Lemoyne Borough Arbor Day Festival

Memorial Park- Lemoyne PA
Arbor Day Festival
Event Date:
Saturday, April 29, 2023 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

Lemoyne Borough is hosting a free community outreach educational event for children and adults on Saturday, 4/29/2023 from 10 am – 2 pm at Memorial Park in Lemoyne.  In partnership with our Shade Tree Commission, we are basing the event around Arbor Day and the importance of native trees and plants in providing clean water, mitigating stormwater pollution, reducing erosion, and balancing the ecosystem.  We are focusing on empowering residents to make natural changes at home to help our native birds, pollinator insects, and wildlife.  Some of those changes include planting native trees and plants, lawn conversion, installing rain gardens and/ or pollinator-friendly gardens, properly disposing of trash and recyclables, installing owl or bird boxes, riding bikes, etc.  There will be 3 presentations and then time in between to visit tables of local organizations as well as art stations, craft projects, fun hands-on STEM activities, giveaways, and more.  Some of the events will provide interactive education about how to help Monarch butterflies, owls, and the animals that live in our community and depend on clean water and air.  Zoo America is bringing live zoo animals that depend on our trees.  We are hoping to make this an annual event!
